I lazily stretches around in my bed. I've been awake for a while but I'm too comfy in the warmth of my sheets to step out in the cold open with and even colder floor.
"Sweetie, it's time to wake up!" Yells my mother from the kitchen.
"Just five more minutes..." I mutter to myself yawning.
I eventually get the courage to get up and drag myself across the freezing room and into the scalding water of the shower. After cleaning myself, I linger for a few more minutes before leaving and getting clothes in the thickest hoodie I can find.
"Morning mom..." I mumbles as I come in the kitchen.
"You're quite lovely today sunshine." She says with a mocking smile.
"Yeah... They should add another day to the weekend..."
"You're just being lazy."
"Yeah." I admit as I sit down pouring myself a cup coffee or more accurately sugar with a dash of coffee in it.
"At least, I don't have work tonight." I comment out loud.
"Are you going to spent it holed up in your room like usual?"
"Is that a complaint?" I ask, raising an eyebrow at her comment.
She let out a long sigh and adds "I think you should get out, see people. You're always working or studying."
"What do you want me to do?"
"Go out with some friends, have fun like a girl your age should."
I grumble a bit to myself under her motherly stare before caving in. "Alright... I'll figure something out." With that, I grab my stuff and head out the door to school.
As I walk there, I take a look at my phone's contact list, which is embarrassingly small. I don't talk to most girls from high school, not that I ever really liked them that much, and the two guys on there one's my ex, calling him would be awkward, and the other moved to Quebec city last year...
I could ask Alek. Although we've only known each others for about a week so far... I haven't seen him out of school and I don't have his phone.
I let out a annoyed sigh as I walk in the college hall, looking around for my locker. After getting my stuff, I'm about to head for Alek's locker to see if he's here when someone catch my arm.
"Good afternoon Mr. Lincoln." I say, turning around.
"Sorry Cass, but could you do me a favor?"
"Ehm... Sure, what is it?"
"A relative of mine just enrolled here and I was curious if you could show him around. He's got the same schedule as you for the most part."
"I guess I can do that."
"Thank you, you're a life saver Cass. Please, come with me. Don't worry about being late, I'll write you a paper."
I shrugged and followed him back to his office instead of his classroom...
