After several hours, she began to get bored of wandering around and her legs began to hurt.
“You don’t have to be here, you know,” Robert said, glancing up at her. She shrugged. “Honestly, you don’t have to. You’re probably so go to the kitchen and get something to eat. All the codes are just six zeroes.”
“Seriously?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“We couldn’t decide,” he shrugged with a grin.
She leant up to kiss him, smiling. She turned around and walked back to the door. It took a good five minutes to reach the exit but when she did, she left and went to the door that she thought led to the living room. She typed six zeroes into the number pad and went in, letting the door shut behind her.
Beth looked at the room she was in, realising this definitely was not the living room. She was in another corridor, but this one wasn’t as long and had doors at regular intervals on each side. She walked up to one quietly and looked through the small peephole curiously.
Inside, there was a person kneeling on the floor, their hands chained to the wall behind them. Beth jumped back and moved along to the next door. It was exactly the same scene, except this one was a woman.
As she went from door to door, she realised most of them were occupied and that this was some sort of prison. Each of the doors was heavily fortified and had a number on them. When she reached the one at the end, she looked at it for a short while. This one looked as though it was made of solid metal and didn’t seem possible to open it at all. She reached out to touch it with her fingertips and received a sharp electric shock that she hadn’t got off the other ones.
She looked through the peephole without touching the metal and saw Rosalyn chained to a chair. She appeared to be talking to someone, and then Isabella moved into Beth’s line of view. She looked furious but Beth didn’t know why.
After a few minutes, Isabella turned, heading for the door. Beth stepped back quickly, blending in with the shadows as best she could. Isabella strode past without giving any indication that she knew she was there in the darkness.
When the door that led to the longer corridor closed behind Isabella, Beth stepped up to Rosalyn’s door again.
Rosalyn glanced up immediately, a devilish smirk on her face. Then everything went black.
