Night was drawing in close and it was time for me to go home to get washed ready for bed, when i saw a strange figure standing at the bottom of the hill. I couldn't see much because he was against the moon lit sky. Trying to make out his appearance, his silhouette moved closer towards me. I stood up, scared and trying to escape. A voice spoke out, "please don't leave."
I turned around, my heart racing. "I’ve been watching you from down here, I think your beautiful."
"excuse me?" I whispered, trying to catch my breath.
"I said, I think you're beautiful."
I was slightly confused and frightened of this new character but I didn't want to offend him so I played along.
"Sorry I don't understand, you don't know me and I don't know you."
"I know, and I apologise but I can't help myself. When something as beautiful as you doesn't know the truth, I have to tell you."
He came closer, casual but cautious. It was as if he didn't want to scare me but he wanted to find out more. He said his name was Sam and that he was my age. We talked and talked until i heard my mother call from the bottom of the hill. It was time for me to go home. The night had flown by and i don't think I’ve told a stranger as much as I had told Sam. He was special and mysterious like a ancient book that could only be shared by trustworthy people.
We both stood, he looked at me for what seemed like an eternity. Then he sighed.
"What's the matter?"
"Its nothing. You better be off, your mum's waiting."
And with that I went.
