Beneath the Branches - Version 2

Recommend

Beneath the Branches was one of the two novels I completed during National Novel Writing Month this year, but obviously there were some quality issues. I'm working on rewriting it from the very beginning. Apart from the Prologue, it's going to be written in first person, now, instead of third. So obviously some quite major changes, cutting out a whole load of chapters and perhaps adding a couple of others.

However, I need quite a lot of help. So this is an appeal to everybody out there to say - please, I need your critiques! I need your harsh comments and your nitpicking (so long as it's constructive, no spam please) to make this the best it can possibly be!

I'll only be posting a couple of chapters up here; going to a maximum of five, I reckon. But if you like, I might send you the document so you can help me out. That is, if your reviews so far are any good. However, I'm wary of sending it to too many people in case of plagiarism (not necessarily of those I sent it too, you must understand). So that's why I'm posting it here first, to choose the people with the most helpful reviews.

If you don't have time to read the whole thing, that's fine. I'll appreciate your comments in this anyway, and you might still get a mention in my acknowledgements :)

I know it's a big commitment and I really would be grateful. Thank you for taking the time to look at this.

delorfinde I'm looking for critique. Please help me!

Ignore the formatting. That's Microsoft Word and Protagonize having an argument again :)

This follows the life of Niall Noigilleach (Niall of the unpronounceable Gaelic epithet), a 4th-century king of Ireland.

I used some key dates from actual history (although some would claim that Niall never actually existed and it's all mythology). The rest of it is fiction, which means I made it up.
