Chapter 10

Your lips send fire shooting through my veins and ice running over my skin. I know Mother won’t interrupt us. Tink barks loudly and I hear you sigh.

“It’ll just take a second. I’ll let her out and be right back to you.”

You smile. I run quickly and let her out. Within moments, I’m back in your embrace. You stroke my face tenderly, lovingly. You stare deep into my eyes and I fall into your oceans. Swimming, floating, relaxed. Your hands trace the gentle curves of my body. And it feels your touch, loves the feel of your soft fingertips. And I wonder if this is it, the moment I might be yours, all yours. Our bodies will tangle and melt into one.

As if your body can read my thoughts, it pushes closer, longing to close the small distance between us. Your kisses are more intense, taking my breath away. I almost ignore the little thought in the back of my mind.

Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!

But I can’t ignore it. It screams loud and clear. This is not the time, nor the place. I tell you and your face falls.

“I’m sorry. I just can’t. Not now.”

You don’t speak, just pull away.

I don’t notice till it’s too late.

Your hand.

The End
