“I fell ice skating. I tried to break my fall. I ended up breaking my wrist.”

“It’s okay. It just makes writing a bit harder. I’ll have my work turned in on time.”

The lies fall from my mouth like rain, a natural part in the circle of life. She doesn’t know you like I do. She thinks you’re a monster, that you hurt me. But you could never hurt me. You love me more than anyone I know, more than I love myself sometimes. You are the one who holds me when I cry. You are the one who saved me. And I owe you so much for that. More than I could ever repay.
