She wasn't ready to stand around and wait for answers she woud never get to the questions she would always fathom. Not here, in the entrance of the tube station, in rush hour, staring at the man she thought she knew.

She turned around and walked through the station without turning back. By the time he looked up, he could just about make her out of a sea of people descending to the railway.

He stood and watched till she was completely out of sight. He exhaled, it felt like ice slicing the inside of his throat and his eyes prickled almost painfully for the tears he wouldn't let come. He just stood there. Frozen.
