Grace beckons

I woke up to the sound of silence. It was awkward, like being stranded on a desolate island; claustrophobic and life-threatening. I felt hungry too. The skies were lit in hues of blue and grey, dotted with clouds of the darker sort. The dragons were nowhere to be seen, and there was no one else around either.

The world was still, and only my eyes seemed to move. For a moment I wondered if the world had ceased to exist; or if I had ceased to exist, with this scene being the backdrop of an eternal memory that would haunt me till the end of time.

My thoughts were interrupted by a presence, lithe and graceful. I resisted the temptation to look at her, pretending to be in thought. But as my mind faded away into alternative constructs of fictional reality, I heard her voice. It shattered the silence and brought the world back to life. The world got back to ageing and moving closer to its eminent death.

I looked up and saw her. My heart skipped a beat as I saw the beautiful, blue eyes; eyes which could see through my soul. Her smile lit up my heart, while her slender figure made me feel flustered and warm all over. I hated the feeling. I hated her.
