Prologue

Aridian, where the water runs into the sky and the fish swim like birds over your head. Where the white grass bristles in the soft summer breeze and the pale blue rivers connect to the sky stream like pillars holding up a great monument. From the Ivory Palace, through the Sleepy Wood to the farm town Oakley, everything and everyone is in danger.

Aridian is ruled by the Royale family headed by the gentle King Viktor III, his wife Queen Arania and their daughter Princess Aribennia, until Arania’s tragic death sent the King’s life into turmoil and he remarried the current Queen Rechele who came with her son Prince Jacken. Soon after his marriage to Rechele, his daughter was kidnapped and he never saw her again. The King became ever weaker at the loss of his daughter and his wife and soon he fell ill and could no longer rule Aridian. Queen Rechele took over his duties and before he knew it, she was having his people slaughtered, murdered and imprisoned for “treason” when they had committed no crimes, with the help of her son. Aridian was sent into panic, fear and sorrow as wives began to lose husbands and children began to lose fathers. Soon after, the Queen declared war on the neighbouring planet Litaria and forced all the men except farm workers to fight for her power twisted needs.

 Our story begins in Oakley, the small farming town of Aridian…
