Friend or foe or passer-by? It wasn't often that someone ventured uninvited into her territory.

It was difficult to keep track of her borders, yet she would have known if this man had been here before. Even so, he looked perfectly at home there, taking his time and skimming stones across her lake.

This simply would not do.

Skidding down the dirt bank, she landed in front of him and raised her shotgun.

"Mind telling me what you're doing here."
