The Ice Witch

I glared angrily at them.

“So why did you just decide to tell me now?” I demanded,

“Well, you were bound to find out sooner or later!” Benny shouted before Mr Smith could say anything.

“Right, so what do we do now?” I asked.

“Well, there’s another thing as well,” April whispered, “I’m ill.”

“So?” I rolled my eyes.

“I could die; I’ve got a deadly angel disease called The White Death,” She whispered, sounding scared.

“Oh,” I whispered back.

“So that’s why we need your help. We need you to destroy The Ice Witch,” Mr Smith informed me.

“Who’s The Ice Witch?” I questioned

“Well, for years and years she has ruled over Angel Heaven, making everything sad and miserable and we need someone to destroy her,” Mr Smith explained.

“So what do I do now?” I asked,

“Err, you need to… go on a quest,” Mr Smith mumbled.

“A quest?” I shouted.

“Yes, with Benny,” Mr Smith murmured

“Why with Benny, why not April?” I asked more calmly,

“Because as we’ve already told you, April’s ill.”

I glared at Benny, and he glared back at me.

“So when do we start?” I asked

“Now,” Mr Smith said firmly.

“Why?” I asked.

“Because April needs it. Anyway you need to find The White Rose, a golden seven-leafed clover and fur from The Blue Koala Bear,” Mr Smith sighed “Benny knows what and where they are.”

I stared at Benny for an explanation but he obviously wasn’t going to tell me.

“Right, so April, you beam Jessie to Angel Tower and Benny and I will meet you there,” Mr Smith ordered.

April clicked her fingers nervously and we’d magically transported to what I supposed to be Angel Tower. Burning brightly, ongoing torches blazed continuously as April and I walked along the long echoing corridor. April suddenly turned into a door and I quickly followed her. Inside there were red-velvet cushions on fluffy looking sofas. Everything was still silent in hear but I was sure I could hear a faint bark of a dog. I copied April and sat on one velvet cushion. It was so soft and fluffy that it felt like I was sitting on a cloud. Suddenly a bright light filled the room and blinded me. When the light had faded, I looked back and Benny had turned up with Mr Smith. April sighed. She hadn’t been affected by the bright light; she just sat there, staring. Mr Smith beckoned me to follow so I slowly did so and he took me into a room that was completely blank, nothing in there at all.

“Jessie, this is very important, watch this and see for yourself,” Mr Smith said as he clicked his fingers and a small screen appeared in the wall opposite me. I watched this short video about the White Death and the cures. It showed me where to find The White Rose, the golden seven-leafed clover and fur from The Blue Koala Bear. It told me that to find The White Rose I needed to travel to the Miami Caves and search deep inside. To find the golden seven-leafed clover I had to complete a series of challenges inside the Maze of Darkness and for The Blue Koala Bear I had to travel to Australia and find the creature in the outback.

“Is that okay?” Mr Smith asked,

“Well, yes but how long do I have to complete this quest?”

“You have precisely three days,”

“And could The Blue Koala Bear be anywhere in the outback?”

“Well, yes although we have some special Koala tracking equipment for you,” and, on cue, a small draw opened mysteriously containing a small pouch, some tweezers and something that looked like a small pair of weed cutters.

“This is what you have to complete the mission with,” Mr Smith said gravely as I looked at the options.

“You may use the pouch to keep the materials in; the weed cutters to cut the stem of the golden clover and The White Rose; the tweezers to pluck fur from The Blue Koala Bear, obviously with his permission, and of course,” he handed me what looked like a normal watch, “the Blue Koala watch.”

“How does it work?” I asked quietly,

“Well, if you put it on your wrist and say ‘Radar needed’ the watch face sides off reveling a radar, then sat ‘Radar no longer needed’ to show the normal watch that works like any other would,” Mr Smith explained kindly. I strapped the watch to my wrist and tested it a couple of times. It worked properly and was pretty easy to use. All I needed now was to complete this quest, cure April and defeat this evil ice witch. Cake.
