Having Breakfast

"Mommy, I'm hungry." Maggie said, running up to her mom. Martha was grateful that she didn't have to answer her mother's question right away.

"Ok, what do you want to have?" Martha asked Maggie.

"Pancakes!" Maggie shouted and ran to put on her purple sneakers.
Martha smiled, and got up to get her coat; Anne right behind her.
Martha drove to the pancake house that they had ate at the last time they had visited, a place called Alli's Breakfast Palace. A waitress came over to them as they walked through the entrance doors.

"Hello, how y'all today?" she greeted.

"Hungry!" Maggie exclaimed before anyone else could answer. They all laughed, and the waitress led them to a table. They all sat down, and looked at the menus. Maggie sighed, and put down her menu. She decided she wanted chocolate chip pancakes. She sung a song to herself quietly, and looked around. Then she saw a boy who looked to be her age, who had blond hair and blue eyes, and he happened to be sitting right behind them.

"Grandma Anne?" Maggie asked.

"What, Maggie?" Grandma Anne replied.

"Can we go over there?"

"After we order Maggie." Grandma Anne said.

"Ok...." Maggie said. Martha ordered a ham omelet, Grandma Anne ordered French Toast, and Maggie ordered Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Then the waitress left.

"Can we go talk to them now?" Maggie asked.

"Yes, we can, Maggie." Grandma Anne said, and all three of them got up and went over the Millians' table.

"Hello, Robert." Grandma Anne said.

"Oh, hello Anne, how are you?" Robert asked.

"And who might these people be?" Robert asked.

"Oh. This is my daughter Martha, and her daughter Maggie. They're visiting for the summer." Grandma Anne said.

"Well, it's nice to meet you." Robert said. Grandma Anne looked to her left, where Maggie had been, to find she wasn't there. Grandma Anne looked around, and found she was walking up to Thomas.

Meanwhile, Maggie was nervous.

'What if he doesn't want to be my friend?' Maggie thought. She really wanted to become friends with him. There was something about him that she liked.

"Hello Thomas." she greeted shyly.

"Hello." He replied.

"I'm Maggie." Maggie said. "It's so nice to meet you."

"You too." Thomas said, "Hey, do you want to play in the playground with me later?"

"Playground?" Maggie asked excitedly.

"Yeah, it's really fun." Thomas said.

"Let me ask." Maggie replied.

"Grandma Anne, Mom, can me and Thomas play in the playground later?" Maggie asked, hope shining in her eyes.

"Sure, if Grandma Anne can come with you." Martha said.

"Ok." Maggie said, both to her mother, and to Thomas.

"So, I'll see you later." Thomas said, leaving Alli's Breakfast Palace, along with the rest of the Millians.

"Good-bye Thomas!" Maggie said, waving to him.

The End
