Chapter 22

There is no way the Angels made it this easy. There has to be a trap somewhere.

In front of me stood a giant door. Nothing protected the door except for a five-digit security code. No cameras, heat sensors, microphones, or anything else I could notice. To make it even easier, the code had been printed above the door in a bright green, the only color in the gray room. 32653. It was that easy.

"I must be missing something," I groaned, frustrated. I paused and took a breath, "everything else was way to easy as well. I guess I will just try it." I walked over to the door and entered the code. The door swung open. A boy popped his head through, I ducked in an attempt to hide.

"Who are you? No one is supposed to be down here." I lifted my head and tried to think of an excuse. My hands were sweaty and my breathing hitched. He gasped, " oh, I didn't know it was you. I am sorry, did Madoc want something?"

"Yeah, he said he needed a certain file, but I am not supposed to tell anyone what he needed."

"Of course, come on in." I smiled, Angels need to communicate.more if they wanted their plans to work. The Angel showed me to the room before walking out. I scanned through the perfectly organized files. I came across Bane's name and opened his folder.
I glanced at his parents information as well. When I came across his father's, I sucked in a breath before carefully placing the file back in its place.

"Well, that was unexpected. Shall we move on," I muttered to myself. I continued scanning the organizers until I came across the one I needed. It was labled "Demons". Simple, and straight to the point, I like it. The organizer opened easily. Inside were only a few papers, a disapointing amount compared to the others.

The papers were mostly information on certain leaders and extra evil villains. One paper had information about what Demons could do, and others things I already knew. Frowning, I put the folder back up.

"Problem, miss?"

"Yes, I can't find what he asked for. I checked the Demon folder but it wasn't there." I crossed my fingers behind my back, hoping I wasn't pushing it.

"Oh, I think I know what you are looking for. I can't believe he forgot the plan already. We put it in a different place in case someone tries to find it."

"Yeah, he forgets things fairly easy doesn't he? That is a good idea, it would have made it easier if he had told me though." I sent him a nervous smile, "you wont tell him that you know, will you?"

"Of course not, Angel's honor." He led me to another room and showed me the file. I surpressed a groan, and thought they had some idea of saftey. The folder rested on top of a desk, with a lable stating that it was the plan to destroy all Demons forever. In big letters. Again, no form of security except for the Angel standing beside me.

"Here you go, remind him it needs to be back before dark, bosses orders."

"Alright, I will. Thank you so much for the help. If I may ask, is there a way out of here? He showed me the one in my room but I don't think I can get back through that one. It's awfully high." He gave me directions to get outside, and even a card to let the gaurds know I was allowed. I thanked him and hurried out of the door, following his directions.

"Just wait til Akira and Slate see what I have," I chanted to myself.

Slate's POV

What do you mean you think she did this on purpose? Why would she get herself kidnapped," I growled. Clover stood above me, smiling.

"We'll at least we can say your opinion of her has changed. One guess Slate. Why would she leave to confront the enemies when she knows we will save her? It couldn't be because she thinks she is helping, could it," Clover stated sarcastically. I bared my teeth at her. I didn't want to listen to her sarcastic comments.

"Why are you so calm about this? Angels have their safe houses protected, we won't be able to find her."
"Don't be so sure about that, brother. Do you forget your special ability so quickly?" I paled at her words.

"I made sure, it wont happen to her! Stop looking so excited about this!" Clover smiled at me. Her eyes glazed over.

"Why aren't you happy? Don't you think it would be fun? She would be..."

"A monster." She glared at me. Anger flashing bright in her eyes.
"Is that what you think I am? What she will be?" Her hands clenched and tears appeared in her eyes.

"You were lucky, Akira said the closer the bond the safer it is. She isn't close to me, we are not related in any way. Who knows what could happen to her." Clover glared at me again. She screamed at me for being a self-centered jerk and an idiot before storming out of the door.

I sighed and put my head in my hands. There is just no way to win a fight with her. She is crazy, I seriously hope she is the only girl to act like that. How was I supposed to feel? Happy that I could possibly be turning someone into a creature worse than any human could come up with? And doing it without her knowledge, no less. either way, if she is turning, I can only hope that she will stay who she is, and not let the creature come through.

The End
