Okay, I know I've told this before, but I think that was on the other site. You know, the-catastrophe-that-shan't-be-named. So, I'll repeat it...but only once!
THX 1138 is a sci-fi classic from 1971 by George Lucas. It's an early example of the sort of dystopian movie that became rampant in the eighties. The basic theme is this guy, THX 1138, stuck in a bland existence who tries to break free and have some sort of individuality. At least, that's how I remember it. It's been a while.
When making my screenname for writing online I decided to use the idea (the THX part) since I could relate to the feeling of being trapped in a world that is limiting and stifling of individuality and creativity. But, if that's the theme I couldn't possibly just mimic it exactly. No, that would fly in the face of the whole point of the movie! Easy fix, I changed the numbers to my birth month and year.
And now you know the story of screenname and about how old I am.
