Closing it behind me, I trudged through the door, happy that it was all over. I made my way into the hallway that gave me the peace of being at home. I hung my keys on their own little hook and set my passport on the end table. Walking into my dark bedroom, I flipped the switch to see my beautiful bedroom. The walls were covered in multicolored, polka dotted wallpaper. I smiled because of my choice in wall coverings. In one corner was my much missed bed with a soft comforter and glow in the dark pillowcase. In another was an old wooden chair that had a red blanket draped over it. Yet, I wasn’t paying attention to the chair by the time I looked in that direction.
