The Phone Callmature

Recommend

It seemed like another perfect day at work.
Katie stretched, bending down helping people try on shoes can do a person's back in.
She smiled as another customer entered the shop and began walking towards them to see if she could be of any assistance. As she opened her mouth to speak, her phone started ringing. This was odd, everyone knew not to ring while she was at work, it must be important.

Katie quickly took her phone from her pocket and answered already feeling worried. "Hello?" She greeted
"Mrs Peaceton, I'm afraid your daughter has had an accident. Could you please come to the hospital as quickly as possible. Thank you." The caller hung up.

Katie went into auto pilot, her mind racing, her body carrying itself to the car. She left a note for her boss and then headed to the local community A&E.
