I got my books from my locker and made it into homeroom right before the bell rang. Sighing, I sat back in my chair and listened to the morning announcements. Then, I started feeling my hands pulsing violently. They didn't move - they just felt like they were going to explode.
I sat up and gazed around the room. I sucked in a shaky breath. Right in the back corner of the room, there was the most terrifying thing I had ever laid my eyes on. My hands suddenly felt better, but the rest of me didn't.
It was almost as tall as the room was high. Its torso was human except for the fact that it was covered in hair. It had four legs that were skinny and pointy, and the tail of a scorpion. And its head... Well, it kind of looked like it had a fly's eyes, and a mouthful of fangs. One word ran through my body. Demon.
It seemed a bit uneasy when I continued to stare at it with a horrified look on my face, but didn't move. That's when my friend punched me in the shoulder. "Come on. The bell for first period rang. Jeez, it looks like you saw a ghost."
"Yeah," I said, feeling a bit queasy as I picked up my books and left the room. "Something like that."
