Chapter Five

I look around as I try to make sense of the scene around me. An old man limps toward me, snickering.

"You're going to die in a few hours!" he states. My eyes widen in fear.

"Wh-what?" I ask. His smile wavers.

"What? You didn't know?" he is surprised. I shake my head, my sweaty black hair shakes with it. A tear falls from my crimson eye. He bursts out in laughter. I try hard to think over his loud guffaws.

I awoke with a gasp. That same dream that had been haunting me for decades decided to return. I pushed myself from the ground of the forest that I had decided to sleep on. I didn't think of my dream as merely a dream. More like a prophecy.
