Chapter 4: Too Far GoneMature

After continuing to look at our handiwork for a moment, I looked over at Jaymee. Once again, our feelings were conflicting eachother. I was feeling rather satisfied and proud of myself that we managed to stay alive, albeit we were covered in blood but we'd survived. Jaymee, on the other hand, was once again being emotional and crying. My beaming smile dropped as I saw the tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Hey, Jaymee, what's wrong?" I asked, placing my hand on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. It didn't work, my gesture of kindess was met with a slap to the face. "Oi! What's that for!?" I exclaimed, not in pain but shocked.
"This!" She gestured to the corpses "Is what's wrong!" She was death glaring me but I just stared back blankly, I had no idea what the hell was going on. "This!" She slapped me again, harder this time " Is all your fault!"
"Huh?" I said, raising my eyebrows at her while clutching my abused cheek
"If we'd just stayed at your place then this would have never happened!" She flung her hands up in the air in frustration, causing me to flinch and jump backwards.
"We had to leave Jaymee, we'd be facing conflict there as well." I said softly, trying to calm her down but she was having none of it.
"That's bullshit! You don't know that!" She cried. Now it was my turn to go nuts, I was sick of her ramblings.
"For god sake Jaymee!" I shouted, stepping closer to her again "It is not my fault! We couldn't stay there, you're being pathetic! I wanted to stay there as much as you did. No more goddammit, that house was my home!" I glared at her, she stared up at me for a moment before crying again. She buried her face in my chest but I did nothing in return, stepping back and away from her after a couple of minutes.
"I'm sorry Quinn, I know it's not your fault... I do." She murmered
"It's ok," I sighed "I'm sorry for shouting at you. Now c'mon, we better keep moving."
