You Should

I stood beside her with innocent intentions
she was reserved, a quality I have always admired
I gave her my jacket as the rain began to fall
I held her close and I was so certain...

I won’t make the same mistakes as before
I held my own flaws and they blurred her own
But I will still say she is perfect just as she was
even if she left I’d wait for her forever and a day

You should
You should
Give me some peace of mind
You should
You should
These days Love is hard to find

We sat on the stone steps surrounded
by the falling autumn leaves
She spoke more when her friends were near
but she never once walked away from me

Will I be subject to the same agony as before?
when I was so close to giving up
Even if she changed and I couldn’t recognise her
I’d still be waiting for her to return

You should
You should
Give me some peace of mind
You should
You should
These days Love is hard to find

So what happens now?
So what happens now?
Will this be a fairytale
or a broken heart to be forgotten

The End
