you'll never catch me running like the water on the socks.

away from flowers floating, and flowing to the docks.

for all along I've counted

the ticking and the tocks

the steady sound

dripping down

into water drops.

and peering out from bubbles

the socks retain your stare.

I tried so hard to pull them on

as soon as you weren't there

to rock, rock, rockingly, rock them off again.

The End
