you are mine

today I rise alone, and I know

you can run, but you can never go

you are mine

that will never be left behind.

you snuck out the door

tiptoed across the icy floor

without as much as a kiss

or a farewell wish

but you are mine

and I'm not letting go this time.

between you and me it hasn't been pretty

we fight and we hate and spoil this beauty

but beneath your pain

I see the gain

our hearts melding together

you'll be here forever

you are mine

you are mine

you are mine

even if in another's arms you are intertwined.

The End
