Lies Among Other EmotionsMature

The mood swings pendulously, even in the choking silence,

We can run from ourselves but we can't hide.

Racing minds and pounding hearts,

Drugged and inclined towards self-destruction.

I wait in the burning darkness,

For you to return,

So that we can bring back all the pain and the anger,

That we love so much.

Eyes flicker in time with every word,

Spinning lies like intricate webs,

Easily tangled, easily crossed.

Silence is never easy anymore.

Forced laughter, manic,

Forced smiles, depressing.

So instead I hide inside of this nightmare,

This lucid nightmare, a shield,

Your claws can't scar me, your hatred can't destroy me.

Only I can hurt me now.

The End
