Your Voice is the Wind

So I walk along, crushing the leaves with my feet

Smelling the air we breathe

As the seasons change and the sun sets

And I think of that night on the beach

As the sand exfoliated my feet

As we laughed and walked

Smiling as two innocent kids do

Naïve in that moment to make it last forever

And time just keeps flowing

Like the wind across my face

It’s been awhile since then

Since we were both just alone

Listening to the trees

To each other

But I still hear your voice

It competes with time

As I walk along, listening to the wind.

The End
