Year of the Cat

Year of the Cat

snow gone for days now
thaw line deepens in sunlight
matted grasses stand

woods thinly greening
spray of white dogwood blossoms
over noisy creek

out of the humid
darkening blustery sky
warm rain drives in cat

train whistle rides far
on slow wind through silver trees
leaf feathers settle

The End
