Would It Be a Cliché to Say That You Can Read the Pain in My Eyes?

The other day, I was at a conference.
A year before, I was there,
Only I wasn't really,
For then, "I" was blonde, and scared, and straight.
Someone said,
Actually, a lot of people said,
That they recognized me by my eyes.
I don't know what
Is so mournful
About the stinging blues,
But when I draw
My face,
I can mess up my mouth
Distort my nose,
And tell that it's me by the eyes.

The End
