Worn Out

She is just a young girl trying to make her way in this world
Bounded by her inescapable responsibility to others
She’s got no time for you boy, no matter how much you protest
Don’t resent her, she’s doing the best she can

It’s up to her
and only her
It’s just her
and only her

I have never felt so worn out
(Close my eyes for just one minute)
I have never felt so tired
(Maybe I can sleep forever)

Lived here for the past few months, still can’t call it a home
the young man who catches her eye just smiles and sighs
She doesn’t have the energy to wave to him, such a shame
She’d like nothing more than to lie beside him in the morning sun

Nobody knows
they are blind
To the golden girl
who sighs upon another hard day

I have never felt so worn out
(Close my eyes for just one minute)
I have never felt so tired
(Maybe I can sleep forever)

She could guarantee the world she could lay down and cry
but she doesn’t, she can’t, she won’t, she will never....

The End
