Words of Life

Everyone else

sees the world through

colors, painted brightly,

against the dark behind their eyes.

I see the world

through words.

black and white,

across the dark spaces that

are my eyes.

I see the words

and feel the tug

of a little golden ball of light

nestled at the bottom of my ribs.

a little light

that is my soul.

I feel its' tug

and know that these words

are my life.

the words of life,

these scrolling, scrolling, black-and-white

words that make up my life.
