Won't You Let Me In?

A lonely voice in the dark. A voice that no-one ever hears.

Soft feet on the forest floor,
A whisper in the wind.
Can’t you hear me calling,
Oh won’t you let me in?

It’s cold and dark outside,
The night is closing fast.
The shadows are encroaching,
The dark has come at last.

Do you hear my voice?
Do you hear my plaintive call?
Or am I just a flickering,
No solid form at all.

In the corner of your eye,
A smudge on a distant plain.
Oh don’t you hear me crying?
Don’t you see my silent pain?

My tears are falling rain,
But my voice is wearing thin.
My friend, why won’t you hear me?
Why won’t you let me in?

The End
