Poet 24: moonwalker

Moonlight Serenade

Late at night when the air is still,
I hear the call of a whip-poor-will.
The frogs sing a baritone song,
I wish that I could sing along .

An owl hoots in the pale moonlight ,
I hear an Eagle's cry in flight.
The loon's sad call makes me weep,
The night is alive! I cannot sleep.

I snuggle in the blankets, my cocoon,
I hear a wolf serenade the moon.
I lie awake in dawn's grey light,
listening to the music in the night.

The End
