winter

the robin stood as proud 

as magneificent king

over his precious snow covered land

 

the sun broke out

over the mighty hills

as a stream trickled by

 

as the red berries

sprinkled snow like icing sugar

on each other

the great oak stood sturdy

watching and waiting

 

and one little leaf

clinging on knowing that it will
