Wild Night

The beauty and savagry of the wild black night

Weary, the night dawns on day
Light wanes away,
As shadows creep into the fray of dust and ash blown
In low deep solid wind.

Hush, you can hear it round the ocean waves,
Bound and beat the rocks, those depraved slaves of the sea
More whispers
The wind is cold
Bold solid breeze blows.

The stars blink,
Savage in the dark
Ravaging the sky with great eyes
Like strange forest creatures of the night
Flight of bat owls and light insects crawl
Through shawl and shroud
Of the great grass tall,
Walk through the wall of trees,
Feet blisters with stinging bees
Ravaging the savage wild woods
While dawn remains quiet.
