Last Good-byes

There are, tears
in her skirt, on her face,
where the skin was so raw and just fell away-
there are,
wrinkles in his shirt, and in his skin.
and wrinkles in time where he’s been -
oh, he’s falling.
Oh oh, she’s falling down.

And his heartbeat races in time to the chatter of her teeth
and her face is,
buried in the snow, heart up above
somewhere, all cool, no heat in cheeks that burn blue,
she,
doesn’t know,
who she is
or where she’s been
heart up above, in the sky,
oh oh I
wish that I
could spend just a little time,
telling her its alright,
but oh, oh oh I don’t think she can,
hear.
me.
now.

He watches her from across a crowded room,
his heart in his hand,
ready to dance,
with a heart that knows him too.
There’s a song playing in his head,
that’s different than the one, ringing in the air-
Somewhere up above, he’s lost somewhere up above,
the ground,
oh, he’s falling down,
oh oh falling down.

With a heart this far gone,
why would I ever stay here?
With a life all its own,
in a world that I don’t belong, in,
oh why, would I, stay,here?

It’s for the way the light shines all around,
and the sound is all gone.
the way that she’s the only one,
he sees.
its for the lost look in her eyes,
a soul lost on the horiz-on,
its for the way,
oh the way,
oh oh the way her heart is lost in the clouds.

With a heart this far gone,
why would I ever stay here?
With a life all its on,
in a world that I don’t belong in,
oh why would I stay,here?

there are,tears-
in his eyes
as he says his good-byes
to a heart that knows him too.
just one more dance, he asks, just one more dance,
before the night really ends,
just one more dance in my arms.
there’s a wrinkle in time,
where this sore heart of mine,
watches as they do.
Just one more dance,
as that lost soul leaves her eyes,
and he cries,
last good night.

With a heart this far gone,
why would I ever stay here?
With a life all its on,
in a world that I don’t belong in,
oh why would I stay,here?

The End
