Where have I been?

It is painful
To be reminded of one's
Mistaken past,
But it must be done

For if you do not look back,
You cannot clear the road to
Where you are going -
We must first take a step to realization

If advice is all white noise in your ears,
Then I will tell you
Instead to take a break
And think about it

"This about it"
This is usually the response to rejection
That a disbelieving society gives
They refuse to admit defeat

But gracefully giving in
Will reflect better on you in years to come,
And when you look back,
You might not regret so much anymore

So before trying to go forwards
- Pushing fruitlessly at boundaries -
Wonder, where have I been?
And try to forge a different path.

The End
