The loneliness of the long distance traveler

The loneliness of the space traveler
He isn’t afraid of what he might find
the travel alone might take its toll
the void might claim his mind

The chance of a unexpected discovery
lay sight on a uninhabited world
disappointment at finding nothing
or communication in a language unheard

Or overwhelmed when we suddenly discover
that space is teeming with life
or devastated to find out we're alone
an experiment - never meant to survive

The End
