when you walked
when you turned your back to walk away
we both knew you'd crossed a line
no amount of apologies
could ever undo.
You came back and kissed my face,
ran your fingers through my hair
trying to prove physically
love still lingered there.
I'm sorry to say this time
words speak louder than your deeds
and you knew my deepest needs
were based on three simply words
you spat upon my face
now don't go asking me
why I'm leaving this place.
