When You Love It

Inspired by Caitlyn Siehl's 'Start Here'

You see the carnage it reeks

You examine the bodies

You follow the trial, nose to the ground

Even when all signs point south.

You are there when they find it,

When the bring it in, when they lock it away

You even testify against it, in open court

And yet, when it’s dark, and it slips in next to you

In the silence, seeking comfort

You let it squirm its way into your heart again

When is a monster not a monster?

When you love it

The End
