When the Sun Shines Through the Rain

I’ve had the blues for so many evenings
as I wondered of days gone by
Everything is uncertain other than the Summer
and the grey clouds it brings
But it doesn’t matter
when the sun shines through the rain

When I remember the cobalt of her eyes
and the way she would hold me
I sigh deeply at the thought of what I lost
that one overcast morning
Yet it doesn’t matter
when the sun shines through the rain

Every raindrop shines like diamonds
dancing on the glow of my bedroom window
I never truly saw past the crystal landscape
that lay before me like a world unlike this

Those I loved and those I despised
reflect in the sunbeams
and for one glorious moment
I’m almost back in those carefree days
Though I’ll never let any tears cascade
when the sun shines through the rain

The End
