when starlight first fell into my eyes
i so wish i could bring back to life,
within that inner place,
that divinely created place,
where awe and wonder come to life,
the moments when starlight first fell into my virgin eyes.
what were my thoughts?
was i surprised?
was i confounded?
was i overwhelmed
with how old they were and how young was i,
when starlight first fell into my eyes.
was it some wordless, mystic rapture,
that trickled through my being,
that tickled laughter in my soul,
or, did my total lack of understanding,
of any comprehension
of significance and scale,
diminish that existential moment,
when starlight first fell into my eyes.
oh, i wish i could recall
i wish i could bring every second back to life,
when i first met the stars
and when the stars first laid their eyes on me.
