Why, of course.Mature

If only we could live by candle light.

How did there get to be so many?

So much so that we are forced

to embrace them

or be completely alone.

I watch most of my friends

from a distance.

When I get close I feel sad.

They too are rooted

into relentless acceptance.

I have stopped querying

the levels of relative worth

between them and I:

Unlike them I dislike the rhyme,

but I cannot avoid that we all have to die.

Then surely we shouldn’t be running

away from ourselves

in to the lives of other people,

Diluted enough to just get along.

If only we could live by candle light,

for knowledge and ourselves:

The last remaining song.

The End
