What Don't We Know But Happiness?

I think this is one of my favourites. Or at least my favourite out of my earlier collection.
I wrote it about a month after the earthquake, when we finally went back to school, even if we had to site share with another school. And I don't know, it was just a really good day, and I tried so hard to capture everything I felt in that day in the poem, but I don't know how well I managed to do that.

Crawl out of your dark shell

little one.

The world is alive,

beautiful, loving, artistic.

Full of life.

Step away from the clutches of your oppressor,

catch a glimpse,

fill your heart,

fill your mind,

with the moment,

capture it,

remember it.

One day soon,

you will live in this world.

Come Back!

Come Back!

It will never leave,

forever rooted.

You will walk in the sun

and see that which you do not know.

Happiness.

The End
