What Could Have Been

My intense melancholia sets in
I realise you’re not with me anymore
You’re gone, and I never told you
How much you mean to me

But then again I’m probably just foolish
I never took my chance when I should have
I’ll try and tell you next time
or so I keep telling myself

Reach out to me and I’ll make it right
We’ll watch the shooting stars tonight
Tomorrow we’ll just lie in bed
and I’ll tell you the things I should have said
I don’t want to look back
and wonder what could have been
What could have been...

I can’t help it, I want to see you
Wave away all my fears if you please
I read that same poem and it reminds me of you
But I can’t help but ask
Do you think of me?

Reach out to me and I’ll make it right
We’ll watch the shooting stars tonight
Tomorrow we’ll just lie in bed
and I’ll tell you the things I should have said
I don’t want to look back
and wonder what could have been
What could have been...

What could have been
If I held your hand and took you away from it all
What could have been
I’ll always be here for you
What could have been

What could have been...

The End
