Before the Storm

I listen to the rushing beat

that pounds inside my mind

from other, more ferocious storms

that time has left behind.

The feeling of a shaken soda

waiting to be burst-

it gives me primal chills from some

old ancestroal force.

The storm is getting closer now,

the sky has turned dark blue.

I hope that when it hits me

I'll be home with inside work to do.

The End
