Waking Life

I flick the switch and realise I'm still asleep,

In too deep? No waking leap.

Dream is destiny, the rest of me is resting,

I'm that little bird dead in the fallen nest,

Perhaps it's for the jest? I confess,

My distress eclipses my life, awake,

I'm in awe of the now, the wow,

The everyday life of an ant,

Who's got his hands off the wheel.

I can do anything.

I can salsa dance, I can expand my trance,

Go to France, romanticize romance.

The man on the train knows the right way,

His light switch will never work,

We are the dreamers.

The End
