The treetops sway

with the harsh whispering

off distant hilltops

of dead miners

and forgotten woes

who were these men?

infinite creations of beings

who die for what they live

and live for what they will never find

chasing the long gone rocks

that shine with the blood

like the sunlight off her hair

as the sleek, grey car pulls away

I think of miners.
