a ball of I(ce)

She / the sun,
scattered silvery strings.
Tied in little knots about
the knuckles of eight long
fingers.

They / her children,
scattered across the dark.
At their aphelion / lonely,
afraid of falling further into
space.

I / the forgotten shape,
at the edge of your light,
silver band wound around
me / in icy memory, 
snapped.

Oh / yes,
I was your ninth
