Up.
sometimes, losing isn't always losing
it's
letting
go.
and sometimes, perhaps losing is life's way to say
it's time
to pack up
and return
home.
And that giving up isn't losing hope,
but it's giving,
up.
offering my worries to the stars,
and trusting they will know.
to you,
I offered up
my
heart.
you held in gentle care,
and then,
gently gave it back.
you mended the crack, bandaged a fracture
with the cast that goobye
was only
a mask.
and we believed
it
then.
now,
I know
when we parted ways
it was meant
to
stay.
I won't seek you out
in the stairwell
through the green eyed gloss
of someone lost.
they say
the universe
only presents someone
with challenges
they
are
capable
of conquering.
I know I am not ready
to see you again.
today,
it is my destiny
to go on,
no longer loving you,
mutely aching for you,
offering up
my love
to the stars
and trusting
they will keep it
safe.
I
give,
Up.
