Unrequited Love Sonnet

Furthest of all you’re the dimmest of lights,

Lighting the way for my own hearts despair.

Deepest of all you are the drowned sight,

Why when you lived, not a moment, could spare?

Now it’s too late and in water you lay,

My desire was sin, and not to be had.

So I guess this must be the price to pay

To believe we could be, I was so mad.

You were the light in the darkness of night,

But was I the darkness of your daytime?

Your eyes like the stars, they always shone bright

But now I know that my love was true crime.

My heart broke in two as I watched you fall,

Love unrequited, the worst love of all.

The End
