Unoiled

it speaks for itself... I hope

The machine.

Once worked. Its parts fitted. Well maintained. Well oiled.

 Its mechanisms worked together.

The watchers neglected to oil; took out parts, replaced them with cogs, with broken teeth, stretched belts, worn shafts.

The machine degrades. Coughs. Jams. More parts Break.

Belts snapped, ratios gone, wheels spinning out of control.

Sparks flying.

The watchers laugh

The machine not degrading fast enough.

More good parts replaced with bad. No oil. Corrosion takes hold.

The machine breaks down

The watchers laugh… again

They discard the broken machines then return to their well-oiled homes.

Maybe one day…

The End
