darling, don't cry for me
darling, don't cry for me
when the mascara stains my pillow
from the shedding of unwanted tears
when there are scratches on my arms
and my eyes bespeak of fears
darling, don't cry
darling, don't cry for me
when my nose is dripping
from weeping i can't explain
when my tongue is filled with lies
about how i'm really not in pain
darling, don't cry
darling, don't cry for me
i'm not worth your tears
darling, don't cry for me
when my poetry fails to say
what i feel so keenly, so deeply
when my chin quivers from fear
and the blood from my heart, seeping
darling, don't cry
darling, don't cry for me
i'm not worth your tears
darling, don't cry for me
please, don't cry
or i will cry for me, too
when you see me, pale as death
and you don't know what to do
when your arms are devoid of hugs
and your skin, hues of blue
darling, don't cry
darling, don't cry for me
i'm not worth your tears
darling, don't cry for me
please, don't cry
or i will cry for me, too
darling, don't cry
darling, don't cry for me
